Boryeong Mud Festival celebrates the wonderful, healthful and lifegiving qualities contained within coastline's mud. The festival spans over a 10 day period. It has been dubbed as Korea's biggest festival, attracting the largest foreign and international tourists.
So, I went along to see what the fuss was about...

The only wallowing over the weekend was the muddy kind - pretty much just a cesspool of activity |
Although I didn't really capture the 'crowded' vibe in these pictures, trust me when I say it was a busy affair. We got inside and it was mayhem. We stood in line for a good minute before getting a chance to do the actual activities. In about an hour we managed to do 3 activities - Mud Wrestling, Mud Prison and a slippery slide. We grew tired of the waiting and instead (pictured above) chilled in a mud pool. We were lucky, though, some other people paid for a ticket only to get a chance to do one activity.
A fireworks display and a couple hours of K-Pop concerts later and this is how life ended up.
Good fun. Boryeong gets 10/10. One piece of advice to those of you considering going. Boryeong will definitely ruin your best underpants, but it will 100% leave you with a gritty smile.
